What is a meal kit?

A meal kit consists of home delivery of pre-portioned fresh ingredients, and sometimes partially prepared foods with easy to follow recipes that enable customers to prepare delicious homecooked meals.

Why should I order one?

Meal kits have a number of different benefits. These include; less food waste, simplified preparation of great food, convenience and even a way to spend quality time with the family alongside variety of different recipes to try.

How do I order it?

1. Simply go to the ‘SHOP’ page and click on a dish that you like the look of and click on: Add to Cart. 2. Next select the number of People you would like to cook this meal for. Once selected click Add to Cart. You will then see a Pop Up Window of your Shopping Cart. You can either add further recipes or proceed to pay by clicking on View Cart. 3. At this stage you will see an overview of the dishes you have selected. Once you are happy with this click Checkout. 4. Fill in your details as requested on the Checkout Page and once finalised click Place Order which will load a payment page. 5. You can select your method of payment: either Debit/Credit Card or MPESA. Once you have entered your payment details you will receive an email confirming your order.

When is delivery?

We offer next day delivery, Mondays – Friday. Orders received on Friday before noon will be dispatched on the same day. Orders received on Friday afternoon 12pm will be dispatched on Monday. We are working on offering weekend deliveries soon so watch this space.

How is it delivered?

Your ingredients will be packed on the day of delivery for ultimate freshness. We have a combination of recyclable and compostable packaging materials that we use. Your order will then be put in a box or bag depending on size. We have our very own rider Nickson who has received hands on training on driving skills alongside health and safety. Nickson will do your deliveries.

What if no one is home when the delivery is taking place?

Each order will have your address and mobile contacts so that Nickson can call you. If you would like to request a specific delivery time please email talk@trycooked with your order confirmation and we will try our best to accommodate this.

What if there is a problem with my order?

We try our best to ensure we get things right however we always want to know if there is a problem. Please feel free to contact us via email: or telephone 0723623470 to let us know what the problem is so that we can rectify it as soon as possible.

How long is the shelf life of the food?

Each recipe has its specific shelf life depending on the ingredients. The recipe card clearly states (on the back or front) a Cook Within x days allocation. If you receive a recipe card that doesn’t have this please email so we can tell you the allocated days.

Can I cook my meal on a different day other than the delivery day?

Yes of course. We understand that last minute plans come up! Each box or bag that your order is delivered will have refrigeration and storage instructions. You are also able to freeze the proteins and vegetables if you would prefer to cook them at a date beyond what is recommended on the recipe card.

What if I need a refund?

We do not offer refunds but will instead replace your dish if you find there is a problem with it. This is at the managements discretion so please send an email and image to
